Look up domain registration details, owner information, and expiry dates
WHOIS is a query and response protocol used to look up information about domain name registrations. When you perform a WHOIS lookup, you can discover details about who registered a domain, when it was created, and when it expires.
Our tool uses RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol), the modern successor to WHOIS, which provides structured, standardized data directly from domain registries.
WHOIS displays domain registration details including the registrar, registration and expiration dates, nameservers, and sometimes the registrant's name, organization, email, and phone number. Many domains now use privacy protection to hide personal details.
WHOIS privacy (or domain privacy) replaces the registrant's personal information with the registrar's proxy details in the public WHOIS database. This protects domain owners from spam, identity theft, and unwanted solicitation.
Enter the domain name in our WHOIS lookup tool. If privacy protection is enabled, you'll see the registrar's proxy information. You can try contacting the domain owner through the registrar's privacy relay email address.
Our WHOIS tool shows the exact expiration date. Most domains are registered for 1-10 years. After expiration, there's typically a 30-day grace period, then a redemption period, before the domain becomes available for anyone to register.
